About Mile High Dog Training

Mile High Dog Training is proud to serve Denver, Colorado and the surrounding areas. We specialize in in-home dog training for all canine behavioral needs.

Some behavioral problems we can help with are:

  • Aggression
  • Excessive behaviors (chewing, digging, barking, etc.)
  • Crate training
  • Puppy training
  • Basic obedience
  • House training
  • Transitions (introduction of a child, pet, or new environment)
  • Separation anxiety

We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all training methodology, and our willingness and ability to customize training programs makes us unique. Every dog is different, and every family dynamic is different. A “well-trained dog” can be defined in many ways.

We care about keeping families together. Breed, size, and temperament do not define a dog. We are passionate about what we do.

We are qualified and certified professionals.

Mile High Dog Training is proud to be a part of Canine Trade Group, a network of certified trainers serving the United States and Aruba. To be included among these elite canine professionals, trainers must complete hundreds of hours of rigorous education.

Included in the course requirements are studies in canine history, psychology, behavior, and training methodology. After completing the book work, aspiring trainers receive practical training, typically helping shelter dogs become more adoptable.

After they spend some time shadowing a more experienced in-home trainer, they receive certification and inclusion in the CTG network.

Every trainer promises to continue their education by staying informed of the latest science and methods concerning the dog training industry.

Our methods are trusted by veterinarians.

We believe in reward-based, veterinarian-supported training programs. We like to work closely with vets because sometimes there may be underlying medical issues that cause new behaviors. A thorough physical might be in order for sudden behavioral changes such as aggression, anxiety, and eliminating in the home.

Regardless of the reason for your call, it’s always helpful to have good communication between your dog’s vet and trainer, even if it’s just to keep your vet up to date.

Veterinarians love us because we use reward-based training methods that work. We help owners set boundaries without using fear or dominance.

The goal of any training regimen shouldn’t be to control your dog. It should simply be to help your dog make better decisions.

This is where our vast knowledge of canine psychology and behavioral health comes in. We can understand why your dog behaves the way they do, and once we know the why, we can begin to figure out how to get through to them.
